Hello Turquoise...

Well I thought I would share the bamboo mirror that I painted...

I don't believe that the pictures do it justice, but I will share anyway...

I delivered it today and finished up a little side table for a little girls room...

So this is the before of the mirror, great shape and texture NOT the right color, that's where I come in...

I taped, and taped and taped (you get the idea, A LOT of tape!) and then primed....

and painted...

and distressed...

and hand painted three layers of color to get the final look....

I have a perfect spot in my house for this, but it already has a home....

I will try and go take pics of it up in it's new home and share with you...

The weekend is off to a great start...

I have been finishing up some custom work, and this weather has been torture...

not exactly the BEST painting weather,

but,

where there is a will, there IS a way!!!

The whole Nichter clan took a ride out to Aunt Katie's Attic to bring ...

I love it, first of all it's HUGE...

The texture is fantastic, it's bamboo...

and it's going to be gorgeous...

She wants it painted to resemble one like this one from Serena and Lily...

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

So the girls and I set out this morning very early to the city wide garage sale, in Scotia...

a few blankets ( to protect the furniture), a cup of coffee and a few bucks...

we only came home with this, but it was well worth the trip...

 and YES, that is my husbands hand holding up the mirror

rest assured, that when I sell it, I WILL use the proper hardware...

she is beautiful...

I'm thinking of painting her white and of course distressed, kind of like this...

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

I have a crazy list of furniture to paint this week and I'm very excited....

last week I had to do things like cleaning and laundry, it was long overdo..

I FINALLY organized closets and clothes bins

I even organized "work to keep",  that has been at the top of their closet, into a clear plastic tote for each child!!!

Now that I'm feeling a little more settled on the home front I am gearing up to paint some more furniture...

It's a Butterfly.....table...

I want to start out by saying how excited I am that people read my blog....

I know it sounds funny,  but it inspires me,

you,

reading right now,  inspires me...

so thanks.....

It kind of makes me laugh because I always loved writing, in high school I thought I was a pretty good writer...

then came college...

freshman year, writing 101....

I was very excited and I thought it was going to be a breeze...

reality check...

My professor said  "I don't know where you learned to write, but you can't"

Not that blogging is very technical, still very ironic...

ANYWAY...

 I finished that beautiful dropleaf table, it's called a butterfly table, Walt told me (he's our 80 year old neighbor that we adore)

so I thought I would share....

A pretty little black desk...

So the past few days I have been focusing on a few custom pieces for some customers....

it is sooo much fun breathing new life into a piece that you already own, not to mention very green...

what shape are you?????

I love to repurpose things, I think it is just part of who I am...

I have always felt that I looked at things differently than everyone else...not in a bad way, Just different...

I always have a million ideas swimming around in my head... and always have ideas how to use something...

I HATE to throw things away and LOVE that I am repurposing things now...

I was talking to my husband and he said " a good team is made up of a circle, a square, a triangle and a squiggle"

I agree we are all different, all unique and bring something special to each thing we do...  So what ever your doing today, do it like YOU  and be proud of that!!!

Now I will get off my soapbox and back to furniture....

The stars are aligning...

The stars are aligning..... I think...

So today after painting some custom pieces.... I brought some of my pieces to La Moda Lisa's...

I am VERY excited at this new venture....it's amazing to me how this passion of mine is evolving...

My husband used to come home from work afraid to see what I had painted, what power tools I had used and what furniture had moved...

Now he comes home excited to see what I have painted and moved....

This really started as a passion or obsession (how ever you want to look at it)

and has evolved, and I couldn't be happier or more thankful...

Well for starters walking in I saw one of my old coworkers and friends...

It was a good sign...

and next Lisa, from La Moda Lisa, told me her birthday was the same as  my late grandmothers, who my youngest is named after...

another good sign...

I do believe in destiny but also in making things work for you...

thinking positive and believing...

I used to imagine talking to Oprah about how I started my business and while this isn't the Oprah show...

I'm getting closer...
