So many fabrics...

So we are in the middle of totally gutting 2 bathrooms at the moment...

A little bit of chaos and my "work" space, AKA my garage, is being used by the contractors....

so I thought I would work on some smaller things in my basement.....

originally it looked like this....

after taking the first layer of what I can only assume was a plastic outdoor table cloth, it looked like this...

and then this...

and after removing the final layer, it looks like this...

I still need to add new foam...

BUT

eventually it will look like this...

or this....

or this....

or this....

I haven't deciding what fabric to use yet, let me know what you think and please let me know if you would like it and what fabric you like best!!!

It even opens for a little bit of storage....

I am off to the library and then to purchase some materials...

Have a happy day....

Pretty in Pink....

sooooo.....

we did it, some will be sad....

I am a little sad too....

it certainly is the end of an era at the Nichter house...

I really wasn't ready, but it was time...

I still have questions...

how will I direct our children, how will we direct guest, and what will so when  a toddler needs an extra place to sleep...

I am talking about our bathrooms!!!!

We have ALWAYS referred to the hallway bathroom upstairs as the pink bathroom, I'm not sure why, but we direct potty goers by bathroom color...

and in this house there was NO mistaking the "PINK" bathroom...

it was time....

so pink, right????

the pink bathroom was HUGE...

we ALL hung out in there on way too many occasions....

I will admit it was nice for little ones during bath time....

we even used it as a bedroom, with a pack and play,  when we had a lot of friends stay...

it has served it's purpose and it looks like this now....

Let's just say the Nichter house is a little bit of chaos and craziness..
we all need a little bit of crazy...

our master bath was a different story...

it was soooo small,  the door was almost useless if you wanted to use the bathroom at the same time....

not to mention, Just ugly...

I am envisioning  this for the kids (pink) bathroom...
Classic Double Sink Console - White

and this for ours....
this for color....
Siena Single Sink Console

and this for style...
Covelo Single Sink Console, Rustic Mahogany stain

and although these beautiful consoles are from Pottery Barn...
ours are not....

I wish you and yours a happy day!!!

So I found a door....

This weekend I am in OHIO...

BUT

on the way I found this....

Yes, it's a door...

I love the big open window, it is perfect for my vision...

and the triple panels that go horizontally....

I had to grab it because it was....

FREE...

why you ask would I want a door and where, on my way to Ohio, did I find it???

WELL,,,,

We stopped at my hubby's grandmas cottage....

I LOVE it,

and on the side of the road we found this awesome door....

we didn't have room, because we are on the way to a VERY important wedding...

sooooo, we stored it in the garage,

her door in the cottage is exactly the same...

MY VISION IS THIS...

knock out the glass and put in a mirror, some vitagy ( I think that's a word) hooks along the side of the new mirror, and painted with a stool or a bench and presto...

A hall tree...

made out of a vintage, salvaged door...

I can't wait to show you the finished product,

UNFORTUNATLEY, the door will be in Silver Creek for a while, until we get it home...

ANYWAY...

I wish everyone a very happy and healthy 4th of July....

Let us relish in our freedom and enjoy time with friends and family, let us not forget the people who fought to provide us with this freedom and amazing place we call home...

Hello Turquoise...

Well I thought I would share the bamboo mirror that I painted...

I don't believe that the pictures do it justice, but I will share anyway...

I delivered it today and finished up a little side table for a little girls room...

So this is the before of the mirror, great shape and texture NOT the right color, that's where I come in...

I taped, and taped and taped (you get the idea, A LOT of tape!) and then primed....

and painted...

and distressed...

and hand painted three layers of color to get the final look....

I have a perfect spot in my house for this, but it already has a home....

I will try and go take pics of it up in it's new home and share with you...

NOW

the little girls table...

here is the before...

and this is what it look like now...

up next, pics of our bathrooms that we are redoing....I'll keep ya posted...
